DUST FREE BRUSHES - Makeup Brush Holder Ideas

When I first started collecting makeup brushes, I would just put them in a jar and leave them sitting out. I noticed that they would get so dusty especially ones that I don't use every day. I spend a lot of time washing my makeup brushes so the last thing I want is for them to get dusty before I even use them. I dont know, but the idea of using a brush full of dust on my face just doesn't sit well with me so this is what I came up with.

I love the fact that this isn't just a brush holder but it also serves as a beautiful decorative piece for my counter. I got these at TJMaxx for $9.99 each but if you don't have any of the discount stores by you, you can also find jars similar to this one at your local craft store. I know Joanns and Michaels have them and they are about $25-$30 but you can use a 40 or 50% off coupon to make them more affordable.

There is also a jar that you can get at Walmart (Houseware section) for $7.44 which I think is a good alternative. Here is what it looks like.

Now for those of you who have a smaller brush colletion, here is another idea.

This case came with a microdermabrasion kit I had bought so I can't really tell you exactly where to get one but I'm sure you can find something similar to this somewhere.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Pls. feel free to leave a comment or ask questions. Thanks!

    1. They are just fillers I found in the floral department at Michaels. Here is a link to a similar one at Joann although I think it was cheaper at Michaels. I also used a 40% off coupon so the price wasnt that bad.

  11. Super cute idea for the brushes & make up but I also noticed the nail polish on the wall & what looked to be an acrylic holder for that. Is that also a purchase from Michael's or is that a specialty item? Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!

    1. I got the nail polish rack from one of those small nail/beauty supply stores (not sallys). I know of three stores here in AZ and I noticed that all of them are by the big asian grocery stores. The price ranges from $25 to $35. There is also a smaller rack but I'm not sure how much. I hope this helps and Thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. I bought one at the nail supply store inside Mekong plaza in Mesa and the other one was at a supply store beside Leelees in Chandler. They were both asian owned. I have been to a few of these stores and I have never been asked for a license.

  15. I am wondering if the glasses are too tall for the brushes??? Do you find it hard to get them out, or is it easy? It was a bit tough to tell by the picture if it was easy to take them out or not.

    1. The brushes are all different but my favorite are the sigma ones www.sigma.com . They can be a bit pricey though so if you have a limited budget then I highly recommend the brushes by real techniques. You can get them at Ulta. They are reasonably priced and are just as good as the sigma ones.

  25. This bathroom setup is so beautiful. I'm defiantly thinking about buying the organizer. I just had one question though, does the organizer hold an eye lash curler? I'm afraid that if I buy the organizer, the drawers will be to skinny and my stuff won't fit. :/

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Unfortunately, the drawers are pretty small so your eyelash curler will not fit in it. I store my small eyeshadow palettes, pencils, primers, concealers and some blush in mine. You might want to check out the muji drawers although I'm not too sure how big they are either.

  39. A large variety of makeup brushes are available in the market. They have become an integral part of every makeup box. May it be party makeup, nude makeup or bridal makeup? Makeup brushes are required at every step in every type. Applying eye shadows and lipstick and so one needs makeup brush container to keep all these brushes at one place.

  40. Makeup storage organizer is basically defined as a storage box manufact5ured out of thick acrylic material. This container is long lasting and of high quality. The effectiveness of this storage box has been appreciated by all those who have made an effective purchase for the product. Besides, if you have not yet made a purchase for the product then you have missed out a lot.

  41. You can often hear it said, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This very common expression may sound objective, but in truth it has an underlying connotation that your beauty depends on other people's opinions.   Isn't it better to say, "beauty lies within you. Sensitive eyelash glue
