HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS

We celebrated my daughter's 9th birthday last Saturday by throwing a halloween costume party. Here are the different decorations and games we had.

I made this wreath with purple and black mesh ribbon and finished it off with a glittery "wicked" sign I got from walmart and a tiny witch hat from hobby lobby.

This was just made by putting pumpkin candy dishes I found at hobby lobby on some candle holders.

I'm not a big fan of the typical candy bar that has unwrapped candy in jars so this is what I came up with.

This jar is made out of a candlestick and a glass jar, both from the dollar store,  glued together. I used E6000 glue.

I made these with black ribbon and foam shapes from the dollar store. I just glued the same shapes together with the ribbon in between.

My cupcake stand usually holds 35 cupcakes but since I only had 24 I decided to leave out the other holders and just put a sign at the top. My daughter wanted a blank cookie cake so that she could decorate it with a toy that she had picked out but when I got to the store all they had were halloween cookie cakes. I guess it worked out well since I was able to use the plastic decoration that was on it for my cupcake tree.

I got this cupcake stand from the Dollar Tree and just put my mini pineapple upside down cakes on it.

These are made by putting cheese puffs in a ziploc bag and then stapling on folded scrapbook paper decorated with googly eyes.

My friend Mars made the eyeballs on this bush. You can see how she made it on her blog http://cactusmango.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/diy-halloween-2012-eye-balls/

I got this cute pinata from Walmart.

Instead of the game Pin the Tail on the Donkey I decided to use this vampire decor I got from the Dollar store and make stakes out of cardstock for a game of Pin the Stake on the Vampire.

I taped halloween foam shapes on the sticks of the ring toss game I already had and then got glow in the dark necklaces to use as rings for this game.

I taped these halloween goblets from the dollar store to a piece of cardboard and then bought a bag of balls (ofcourse at the dollar store) for this game. (sorry dont know what to call it)

Lastly, I made a bean bag toss game out of a big box. I had my husband cut out some holes then I covered it with a plastic tablecloth and then decorated it. My friend Mars made the bean bags out of some fabric remnants and lima beans.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to ask questions or leave a comment.

My Outfit Today - Going Green!

The dress is by Mossimo from Target and flats by Rock & Republic from Kohls.

For my eyes, I just used a green and a brown single shadow by Maybelline. (Yes, yes, I know...Never match your eyeshadow to your outfit. Fortunately, I dont believe in that rule.)

For the accessories, I wore a neon green bracelet from F21, a gold and pink bracelet that I made and another asian inspired bracelet my mom bought in the Philippines. I also wore a flower ring but I can't remember where I got it from.

Thanks for stopping by!
