GET IT OR FORGET IT: Silk'n SensEpil Hair Removal System Review

This is without a doubt a "GET IT" product for me.  I love that I don't have to deal with shaving my underarms anymore which I had to do almost everyday. I had dark, thick hair that grew so fast that I would shave in the morning and already have growth that same night. Now, while  I still have a little bit of growth, it is nowhere near what I had before and I can easily just pluck whats left. I started to notice a difference by the 4th or 5th time I used it. One thing I learned though is that you do need to be consistent and not miss a session for it to be effective. I also have to point out that it does say on the box that it can't be used on naturally dark skin nor will it work on light hair.  I purchased this item for $199 on their website https://www.silkn.com/.  Right now, til 8am on Mon 3/30, Hautelook has it for a better price. The same one I got that included 1500 flashes is $159 and they also have the one with 65000 flashes/lifetime package for $259 http://www.hautelook.com/invite/MFooshee605.  I wish I would have gotten the one with the lifetime package so I wouldnt have to buy another cartridge since I plan to use it on other parts of my body but unfortunately it wasn't available at the time. Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and I hope you found this review helpful!

My 2012 Beauty Favorites - FACE

I was starting to think I was never going to get this post up but thank God I finally got it done. It was really hard for me to pick just 1 or 2 items from each category but I knew I had to narrow it down to just my ultimate faves.  I will be doing a part 2 and 3 for eyes, lips and all my other favorites. I felt it was necessary to cut it up into 3 parts so this post wasn't ooberly long. Here are all the face products I was obsessed with this past year.

   FOUNDATION
My favorite foundation was and still is Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse. I loved this so much I went through 3 pans last year. I also discovered the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation towards the latter part of the year and have also grown to love it.

CONCEALER
I tend to be very picky when it comes to concealers because my eye bags are pretty bad and I have very dark under eye circles. That being said, my top pick for this category is the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. A lot of people may find the formula to be a bit dry but I like that way so it doesn't settle in my creases. Another product I really like is the Hard Candy Glamoflauge. It has amazing coverage but is very creamy so you need to be careful when applying or else it will crease. All you need is a tiny dot cuz a little goes a long way with this concealer.

POWDER
My most used powders last year were Maybelline Dream Matte powder, The Balm's Sexy Mama and Milani's Mineral powder. All three have done a great job setting my makeup and keeping my face shine free.

BLUSH
I liked the Milani Baked Blushes so much that I bought all of them. While all the shades are very pretty, both Rose D'Oro and Terra Sole were the ones I found myself reaching for the most. I also have to mention Hot Mama by The Balm because this really is a beautiful blush.

BRONZER
My top bronzers for 2012 are Elf's Blush and Bronzing powder and the Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Dance.

HIGHLIGHT
I don't highlight all the time but when I do I use either my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle or Milani Baked Bronzer in the shade 04 Glow.

Thanks for stopping by and please watch out for part 2 of this post.

HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS

We celebrated my daughter's 9th birthday last Saturday by throwing a halloween costume party. Here are the different decorations and games we had.

I made this wreath with purple and black mesh ribbon and finished it off with a glittery "wicked" sign I got from walmart and a tiny witch hat from hobby lobby.

This was just made by putting pumpkin candy dishes I found at hobby lobby on some candle holders.

I'm not a big fan of the typical candy bar that has unwrapped candy in jars so this is what I came up with.

This jar is made out of a candlestick and a glass jar, both from the dollar store,  glued together. I used E6000 glue.

I made these with black ribbon and foam shapes from the dollar store. I just glued the same shapes together with the ribbon in between.

My cupcake stand usually holds 35 cupcakes but since I only had 24 I decided to leave out the other holders and just put a sign at the top. My daughter wanted a blank cookie cake so that she could decorate it with a toy that she had picked out but when I got to the store all they had were halloween cookie cakes. I guess it worked out well since I was able to use the plastic decoration that was on it for my cupcake tree.

I got this cupcake stand from the Dollar Tree and just put my mini pineapple upside down cakes on it.

These are made by putting cheese puffs in a ziploc bag and then stapling on folded scrapbook paper decorated with googly eyes.

My friend Mars made the eyeballs on this bush. You can see how she made it on her blog http://cactusmango.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/diy-halloween-2012-eye-balls/

I got this cute pinata from Walmart.

Instead of the game Pin the Tail on the Donkey I decided to use this vampire decor I got from the Dollar store and make stakes out of cardstock for a game of Pin the Stake on the Vampire.

I taped halloween foam shapes on the sticks of the ring toss game I already had and then got glow in the dark necklaces to use as rings for this game.

I taped these halloween goblets from the dollar store to a piece of cardboard and then bought a bag of balls (ofcourse at the dollar store) for this game. (sorry dont know what to call it)

Lastly, I made a bean bag toss game out of a big box. I had my husband cut out some holes then I covered it with a plastic tablecloth and then decorated it. My friend Mars made the bean bags out of some fabric remnants and lima beans.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to ask questions or leave a comment.
